This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central
Colorado.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight
Increased fire weather concerns are expected this afternoon over
the high mountain valleys, foothills and southern urban corridor.
It will generally be windier up near the Wyoming border, with
gusty westerly winds up to 50 mph, and drier further south over
the foothills and urban corridor or Boulder and Jefferson
counties. Care should be taken with any kind of outdoor burning in
these areas.
Increasing moisture from the west will lead to a few showers or
thunderstorms later this evening into the early morning hours
over the mountains. A cold front will drop south across the
plains after midnight.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday
Dry, warm and windy conditions are expected on Saturday. Wind
gusts could reach 40 mph over the mountains.
Stronger winds are possible on Sunday with gusts up to 45 mph
over the plains and 55 mph over the mountains. Due to relative
humidities reaching as low as 10 percent, there will be elevated
to critical fire danger mainly over the plains, southern foothills
and mountain valleys. Warm and windy conditions will persist on
Monday with elevated fire weather conditions expected over
the southern half of the forecast area, including the eastern
plains southeast of I-76, southern foothills and Middle and South
parks.
Temperatures will cool Tuesday through Thursday as a cold front
moves through. Isolated showers and storms will be possible each
day mainly over the eastern plains.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation will not be needed today or tonight.
