Bearing in mind I was there in 84-85..
Good location, as I understand it largest training area East of the Mississippi, [ why we could live fire Stingers and Sidewinders there.] Good area, but beware the Serpents..they have wings and call themselves "mosquitoes", and the occasional 'gator.
God rec areas for any time off, Savannah Military friendly town . Good memories of the place, beaches and Jacksonville Florida reasonable drive.

I was there in 10-12 and best part was being able to drive to Jacksonville or up north to Hilton Head Beach. Sang the Dog Face Soldier song over and over LOL Hated the sand gnats and flies, could not cook outside without having them swarm everything. Yeah, don't really miss GA. LOL
