The upper echolons used to be apolitical, publicly. Considering the left's military vets and active members have foresaken that standard, I see no reason why right leaning military vets and active members need to remain silent. Speak up!

Thank you, sir, for posting. President Trump is exactly the right Commander-in-Chief for the Nation during what we now recognize as the greatest threat to America from the most virulent & dangerous domestic fifth column since the Lincoln Presidency of 1860.

Now if the media could stop doing this, I would argue the divisiveness in this country would be significantly lower. It's come to the point where I cannot trust any headline, much less report face value. This is only a small example of what I see everyday. The media has a huge problem with bias, choosing articles which fit their narratives (and bias), reporting in an inaccurate or misleading manner, and worse of all, neglecting to simply present the facts (all of them). I no longer listen to anonymous sources because if I can't trust the media by itself, why would I trust their anonymous source? If we want to do something significant to fix much of the divisiveness in this country, we need to start tuning out and show the media we're tired of their biased, opinionated, incomplete, out of context, and/or sensationalist driven reporting. Sensationalism is another root problem I take issue with for the media. The problem here is that the news is secondary to what makes money. So what do they do? They report to a specific audience.

I have zero problem with people making money, even in the media. The alternative is to have an even less effective media with little means to present the news, or one that is government funded (and in turn controlled) and I don't want that. However, with that said, more transparency needs to be pointed out to the consumers about those who runs and delivers the news, as well as who funds them and what roles they assume in doing so. Each of the MSM sites are moving more and more away from traditional reporting/journalism, and instead provide increasingly more commentary and opinions vs facts and objectivity. It's getting to the point where you can't tell if you're watching the news or an opinion panel. It highlights a fine line potentially crossing into plain propaganda. On top of that, they are also acting highly irresponsible in their objective to be the first one to report that they neglect gathering all the facts before pushing the story (adding their bias to the mix). The article headline above is just a minor example of what some other headlines have done in the past. Honestly I think more accountability must be directed at the media, especially when they get things wrong and in turn create panic, encourage mob mentalities, and incite violence and/or defamation of someone's character.
While I completely support freedom of the press, I still think that some people, who claim to be press, are far from it. Seems to me that the press would be trusted more if they collectively institutionalized certification standards (not just relying on generic journalism degrees) specific to their journalism specialty, and require from themselves recite an oath, similar to what other professionals are subjected to (such as doctors, lawyers, government employees, military, etc). Additional to that effort, they can also have their own system of both certifying and decertifying those who choose to be members and hold them to the journalistic standards recited in the oath. Control of information is becoming more and more of a problem and the MSM plays a huge role in that. Coupled with like minded politicians, who don't officially control them but effectively do, there isn't going to be much of a difference between them and a state controlled media. Capitalism is pretty much the only means we have now to counter that. As much as people love to beat Fox News up for being right leaning (which I do not deny), without them and venues like them we wind up not being able to provide the other side of the perspective.
