I report to Fort Sam Houston for 68C AIT as a reclass on 22 January 2021. What should I bring? What should I expect? Where will I be staying? I am active duty with family who will not be coming to Sam Houston

It's a normal AIT, you bring your initial issue clothing bag. You could show up with nothing but uniforms and be fine. The bigger concern is always
1. Do you have your orders?
2. Do you have your manual DD1610 signed with a line of accounting if your Phase 2 isn't at BAMC?
3. Does your start date include the 14 day ROM you're required to initiate at JBSA if you aren't able to travel by sterile military travel? Is (FYI, that's not you if aren't coming from Basic). Is that ROM reflected in your DD1610? If your class starts on 22 Jan you need to be in JBSA by the 8th

SFC (Join to see)
SPC (Join to see) you have PCS orders taking you to Walter Reed and they say your Phase 1 is TDY at JBSA. They also say you need to go to your DTS manager for a DD1610. If you don't have that, finance won't pay for your TDY travel. You need to fix this like tomorrow. If you miss this class seat you probably will not get another.

Do you think I could change where I do my phase 2? Or atleast come back to Fort Carson after I’m done with phase 2 who would I have to call to get more info?

SPC (Join to see) no. Class seats are limited. In order to change you to a different location someone else has to be changed at the last second. You said you were choosing to leave your family so they should be staying at Carson. Since you are PCSing away from them you require a BAH Waiver approved by HRC to allow your family to stay there while you're in school. Otherwise you have time between phase 1 and phase 2 to return and get your family. Whatever you chose should already be in your orders. You need to get with your Career Counselor today, and probably with your Brigade Senior Career Counselor today in order to make it to class on time

There is a FTX at the end of phase 1 at Camp Bullis. If you bring your TA-50, you’ll avoid a headache with the Fort Sam CIF.

I'm currently in phase 2 at BAMC,
The 68c phase 1 just moved from C188 to C264, consider yourself blessed. Expect a high fail rate in phase 1 which you should be experiencing right about now. Phase 2 is practically the exact same thing as phase 1 just much more in-depth. While at C264 you'll be staying in the prior-service barracks, but when you move to phase 2 dependent on your site, you'll likely be staying in the barracks. Like everyone else has said, make sure to study. I've watched all of my friends leave the course from academic relief.
Feel free to reach out with any specific questions, and when you find your phase 2 site I can get you in touch with someone there in the senior class to show you the ropes. Hope your phase 1 is going well!
