I’m currently an 0311 in the Marine Corps and I will be transferring to the Army on Monday the 17th. I will be attending AIT at Ft Leonard Wood, my MOS will be 74D. What is life like for prior service in AIT and what is the MOS like?

We had a prior 0311 in my AIT platoon. Our Drill Sergeant’s pretty much left the prior service alone. They didn’t march with us to class or eat chow with us. They lived in a separate building without Drill Sergeants. We would only see them in class.

Life is sweet. If things haven't changed you will go to morning PT at 0430 and then class. You will not have to stand in formation and you are not subjected to any corrective training. Prior service did not eat in the DFAC with IET soldiers and they were allowed to have vehicles. They stayed in a different barracks.

I’m not sure about the prior service part but I’ll be finding out soon as for the mos it was my prior mos and I went to ft Leonard wood too. I absolutely loved the ait. And the mos too. Live nerve chamber was my favorite. Just pay attention in class and have a great time you’ll like it too. Good luck!
