I defeated the groundhog who invaded my garden, but now I find deer tracks and signs of browsing on my tomato plants. I thought animals avoided the strong smell and taste of tomato plants.

Sgt Jim Belanus - The "stinko stuff" was probably the coyote urine Rock mentioned. I put some nylon netting over the plants yesterday, and had no deer tracks this morning. I'm leaving a radio in the garden overnight. That worked to keep the groundhog out. Maybe it will work with deer.

CW3 Harvey K. - I think the stuff she was using was made of blood meal, that is what my old cousin used on his garden on the farm. Good luck, we've lost tomatoes that were 2 days from picking, sure ticks a guy off

I have a few protected plants here most my mother started and 1 that came from my great grandfathers farm. Really old style and really good.
