I am due to attend Combat Engineer (12B) Phase 2 of ALC soon and was wondering if anyone could provide insight and tips for the course. I did well with the phase 1 portion and understand demolition calculations fairly well. I was wondering how much of Phase 2 would include classroom and testing compared to field exercises as well. Any advice would help thanks.

Update! I wanted to share a few things after attending the course that may help others in my position. First off, I am in the Reserve so I attended as a TPU so my ALC was only 12 days. We did not go on any demo ranges since we are not prioritized since we share the base (Ft Leonard Wood) with IET soldiers. Secondly, the location of the school house is the same as the reclass location For 12B/C, 12N, 91L. Active duty ALC/SLC is in Thurman Hall. The course was all classroom based but come FY23 they will re-incorporate the FTX portion. You will also take the ACFT and need to have your dress uniform.

Troops Leading Procedures is paramount. Know them and how to apply them at your level.
I would brush up on all the 2-4 skill level tasks for engineering across mobility, counter mobility, and survivability. Depending on the type of unit you are in, you may not have had to do project estimates, bridging, or demo, all of which should be in this phase.
