Did you know? That Glass takes one million years to decompose, which means it never wears out and can be recycled an infinite number of times. That's ok, neither did I.

Of all the recycling material, this is seldom done. I don’t get why it’s seldom done.

Perhaps the weight and bulk of collecting the glass in residences and Businesses on any given day would preclude the profit margin from being acceptable. Just one or two blocks-worth of recycle bins/ cans full of glass would exceed the weight restrictions of the truck/ dimensions of any truck picking up the glass.?? Or even make sense gas-wise / necessary trips to get any sign of profit from the collecting of glass containers/ bottles/ jars/ of all sizes and most dimensions. Not to mention the wear on each vehicle almost ceaselessly on their routes... and then there are the building and maintaining of facilities to both hold and recycle the glass and ship the rudimentary grit to the plants to be made into new/ sterilized recycled glass??
Then there are the lands , machines , personnel, fuel to operate the centers and supportive services/ materiel to locate a wide and long enough tract of land(s) to build the facilities/ house a " Motor Pool" have qualified mechanics and admin staffs let alone the buildings in which the glass is to be held/ retcled, and made ready fir re use in factories elsewhere in the city, county, state/ province, to be reformed into what is ordered. It would be very deleterious to the environment in noise, sight, air, land and other forms of pollution added to a tenuous environment as it is now.
Then the gas consumption , the electricity demands, the facilities to handle workers and machines and keep both safe and accident free, the Unions that would almost certainly be involved hiking or striking the wage concerns of its members, OSHA, EPA, IRS/ accountants/ admin health staff,,,
It's just too minimal of a profit- to be made after the concerns listed are taken into consideration.

Amn Dale Preisach You are right, solution tax anything delivered in glass, until it’s profitable to recycle. And pass a law that grocery store plastic bags be degradable.
