The losses must be staggering in those stores.
I know of one store - one electronics dept in particular - that took a 20% hit during an inventory - and the dept head not only kept his job, he didn't even feel threatened.

So the new progressive mayor-elect of Chicago quickly came out with a statement that this was not about crime, that Walmart was closing 20 stores around the country and Chicago was just part of the Walmart restructuring.

Just to understand - Walmart is closing 20 stores in 11 states, 4 (20%) of them are in Chicago, one of the primary reasons Walmart mentioned is "retail loss of merchandise" and the financial losses of these stores has doubled in the last 5 years ... but this has nothing to do with the city and you're just a victim.

Yeah, right.

It's not always the cops, or the DA. A good many of these retailers tie their associates hands when it comes to dealing with shoplifters. A Walmart associate won't get in your way as you run out the door with a flatscreen, any faster than a bank teller is going to chase you after you take their money.
