Greetings PO2 Christina "Jian" Phillips. Excellent post. Thanks for sharing this Shipmate. I still recall when the Summer of 2001. I was active duty and stationed in Norfolk, VA. I still recall when September 11th occured as I was stationed aboard the USS Nimitiz (CVN-68) and entire ship was on lock down. The lock down finally was lifted at 0800 the following day. Security was elevated for a while until the Nimitz decided to do a homeport chage in mid October to San Diego.
