Chances of getting back in with Re Code 3 EPTS?
Went into basic July of 2017, I was never fit or active before I had gone in and barely passed the mile requirement at exactly 9:30. I had surgery for pectus exscavatum back when I was 13 though and during Army training I felt chest pains and I made the mistake of going to sick call at around 9 weeks in.
Long story short I was diagnosed with EPTS, with an Re Code 3 on my DD-214, one thing I will like to point out is that it says my condition was non-service aggravated, so that may help my chances. But on to the point, I've been seeing an Air Force recruiter to get me into the air force, but it's been about 42 days now since he put in my paperwork to Meps to get their word on it, in the mean time I've also been speaking with my army recruiter who's said he's willing the get me back in as well.
Finally I'd just like some tips on showing the military I'm physically fit, or that it wasn't a medical issue but just me being out of shape, since then I've been going to the gym nearly every day to cut my 2 mile time down. Should I possibly write to my congressman to get my Re code changed?
