LTC Vindman retires, was he right or wrong? What about the second and third order effects?

Aside from the usually partisan (and superficial) comments regarding LTC (R) Vindman, is there a lesson to be learned here? We had a sitting US senator holding up promotion for 1000 senior officers to allow for his promotion. Whistleblowing. Polarizing politics and the politicalization of the military seems to be here for the duration. While the retired could easily just take pot shots from Ft. Living Room, here's my question. How can currently serving members truly remain apolitical? In a world where one callus post can end your career, use some judgment if you elect to weigh in. Was he right? Would you have done the same? Was he dead wrong?

Frankly I saw Vindman as a complete joke and a puppet of the media and "deep state" players. As I see it, he is lucky he was allowed to retire. As I watched him during the hearings I was appalled by his actions and testimony. If I were to write his OER, I would have nailed him for lack of judgement and the fact he embarrassed the office he served.

It appeared this guy was Pandering to the deep state for personal gain, his actions were agenda driven and I suspect he will resurface on the propaganda team or elsewhere

Tempest in a teapot, if you ask me.
The whole episode was overblown by zealous partisans who were smarting from the ignominy of the Mueller Report.

He belongs in Leavenworth.
Background on Vindman:
He’s tied to Ukrainian arms dealers, Ukrainian oil, and the Atlantic Council.
He’s connected to Obama’s Russian ambassador and Fusion GPS’s Glenn Simpson.
He tried to tamper with the transcript of the phone call between President Trump and the Ukrainian President.
He’s in violation of the leaking statute that is 18 USC 798.
He claims Trump’s phone call was “biased”, but not Biden’s actual bribery or his own convoluted logic.
The following is a first-person account of Vindman’s penchant for being a dishonorable leftwing tool.
https://amgreatness.com/2019/11/04/retired-army-officer-remembers-lt-col-vindman-as-partisan-democrat-who-ridiculed-america/
Lt. Col. Jim Hickman stated that he had to reprimand Vindman for denigrating the USA in front of Russian officials.
Vindman was part of an attempted coup d'etat against a duly elected President.
He should have been prosecuted.

Vindman's entire participation in this political witch hunt on which he chose the wrong side, was laced with perjury, yet he was never prosecuted nor charged militarily. How many times did he refuse to confide with any of the defenders as to who the whistle blower's identity was? He was the great, noble, loyal defender of this patriot (aka whistleblower) for whom he had fear for his safety. The only trouble is that there WAS no whistler blower that confided in him. It was vindman's " imaginary friend", himself, that he was "protecting" all of that time. He was merely a political operative that was loyal only to himself and his fellow political operatives and would lie to " get Trump" for
the good of the party". His own ego and vanity exposed himself when he published his book......https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2021/08/lied-vindman-reveals-memoir-whistleblower-trump-sham-impeachment-testified-oath-wasnt-whisteblower/

He was right. Not only that be Vindman did not make anything political; he was politicized by those who support politicians so *blindly* they’d do anything to discredit anyone who dare stand for the Constitution.

It was political by where he disclosed his concern. If this was not a question of policy, I would back him but it was a question of policy. If you do not agree with the policy ask to be reassigned. If Trump said you will only get you help if you kill a foreign ambassador to Russia, then you have an unlawful order.

He was wrong, he acted upon and repeated hearsay. He eventually admitted he had no first hand information, just what he heard.

I'll just leave this here so you can mull over whether Trump was within his presidential authority to request legal assistance to uncover corruption and criminal activity from a foreign partner, which was Vindman's excuse for violating his oath of appointment and numerous UCMJ articles and federal laws.

Wrong...he was politically motivated and in my own humble opinion deserved UCMJ for slandering his CIC. Many of you may say nay but I feel he went against his own oath to the CIC that he swore to when signing his contract. He repeatedly said it was hearsay and that HE did not directly hear it. In that case he was dead wrong and an embarrassment to the Army. Sure I know the good ol boy system took care of him. But had he been a senior enlisted would the outcome been the same? No he would have been reduced and then retired. As far as I see it he lied under oath and did so on a televised event while wearing his uniform. A disgrace plain and simple. Yes I am a Republican but I also have not lost sleep over President Trump losing other than that my party lost. His actions at the end were embarrassing to the great office of the Republic he held. But he was the sitting President and the LTC betrayed him.

swearing the oath is a "professional" thing; a man's honour should NEVER be suppressed, subjugated, denied! He had the balls!
And, here's how I see him:, ALMOST equivalent to "lowly" WO Hendersen, facing down two companies of dirt-eaters?! THAT was balls, brains, courage, honour...

Not at all, while I thought the general was a buffoon, to curse the CIC to his men, thereby, rightfully putting his life's work in jeopardy, unlike Vindman, who didn't do anything, but his duty, I thought McChrystal should have been given a second chance, out of respect for how many times he put his life on the line for our country.

OH!! BUT! Missing the POINT! HOW can an officer disagree with the CoC?! Unless he's "secretary of the Army," or Navy, or JCoS, or Sec Def.?

Our oath is to uphold and defend the U.S. Constitution. Our responsibility is to do that which is right, which at time times cause us to take a sabot round through the chest. LTC Vindman chose the 'hard right' over the 'easy wrong.' He could have said nothing when he observed an incident that was grossly wrong, bur rather he showed the qualities that we should expect from a leader. He did what I hope the rest of us would do, he put country before self.

"Hard right" is purjuring himself? Even his NSC peers testified they didn't trust him with sensitive information. Maybe your TDS has gotten the better of you.

If he had actually observed said incident, I might agree. However, as everything he had to say was hearsay, he had no firsthand knowledge to impart to anyone.

Lot's of faux not the news propaganda channel watchers on here. One has an obligation to disobey and report wrong doing. Bribery, threats by the so-called president is certainly wrong doing. LTC Vindman did the right thing and ruined his career. We all owe our allegiance to the Constitution 1st and last.

I can't imagine a LTC challenging the President of the United States. He used his uniform as a prop which made it even worse since he normally wore a civilian suit to his office every day. Good riddance. But, but, but, I fully expect that if Biden wins, Vindman will be back and get his promotion to O-6. He will be rewarded for being the Democrat's martyr.
