LTC Vindman retires, was he right or wrong? What about the second and third order effects?
Aside from the usually partisan (and superficial) comments regarding LTC (R) Vindman, is there a lesson to be learned here? We had a sitting US senator holding up promotion for 1000 senior officers to allow for his promotion. Whistleblowing. Polarizing politics and the politicalization of the military seems to be here for the duration. While the retired could easily just take pot shots from Ft. Living Room, here's my question. How can currently serving members truly remain apolitical? In a world where one callus post can end your career, use some judgment if you elect to weigh in. Was he right? Would you have done the same? Was he dead wrong?

Any “concerns” he might have had should have been addressed up his Chain Of Command, the nanosecond he made it public he violated the UCMJ and subject to the consequences. NO sympathy for him, as a senior commissioned officer he knew better.
HIS lack of judgment earned him his fate.

Not that I believe anything Vindman claimed to have heard, Who authorized Vindman to eavesdrop of Head of State communications?

There were about twelve people listening to that call. That type of call is not a private one on one conversation. That is why his testimony was not hearsay. his oath of an officer is to defend the constitution not a loose cannon president.

I can't believe you could reach O6 with such ignorance of governmental operations. No O7 for you.

When I was preparing to campaign for a political opponent while still active, I had to go though a very strict course by the JAG on what I could and could not do. Especially while in uniform. This officer used his rank and position to spread false innuendo about the commander-n-chief. There is in no way any room for such blatant disregard for political infiltration of our Military personal in the police campaign for our against a President. Now if he had FIRST HAND knowledge of the President doing something illegal then he reports that using what we all use, the damn chain of command. He hated the President and he allowed himself to be used like a wet rag to further one parties agenda against a setting president. And that should have landed him a court martial at the least.

So, in reading through a number of responses to the question poised; how many of you typed "Corruption in the Ukraine" into the search bar and hit enter then read all the entries??? Don't use "Google" it's biased but, "Duck Duck Go", "Bing", "AOL", even Microsoft Edge gave some surprising results.

So my question is; Who or what was LTC Vindman covering up??

CPL Kenneth Servello Jr - Where is you evidence for this ludicrous accusations against 3 Presidents? All Dems, of course. Between them so far 19 years leading the country; nearly 12 continuous. Hmmm, How could we even be here, much less still funcitioning. You're still military, you get a paycheck as do millions of others. Your premise is flimsy, pure prejudice.
BTW: IF you read it - or listn to those who quote it, Collusion was not debunked, It was too well concealed, and the politics of "the President has ultimate authority, unindictable, Meuller had his hands tied to push prosecution. He said "It isn't sufficiently proven and courts won't prosecute a President.
Your biases are so blatant I will not continue in this "discussion".

Our other is to the Constitution, not to a president. If I see an officer committing treason, even if he outrank me, I have a duty to report him for treason regardless of the rank.

No active duty service member, civil service member, or political appointee is obliged to comply with an illegal order. If this were not true, then the judges at Nuremberg were wrong. "I was only following orders" becomes a valid defense.
