Shelter closed
Shelter open
ETAS - Sembach Airport, Sembach Germany

To the best of my recollection this was a Hardened Aircraft Shelter . . .

The same architecture was used by USAF 527th Aggressor Squadron to house their F-16's . . .

Note Russian Bear & Star on shelter and Russian Star on aircraft . . . at RAF Bentwaters, England

WR is now on the tails of the E-8 "JointStars" based at Warner Robbins. The 527th is now the 527th Space Aggressor Squadron at Schreiver. 527th was the only unit to use F-16's in the UK.

The Aircraft AF 85-1479 is an Block 30 F-16C "Wide Mouth Viper" with the GE F110 engine. It looks like it bounced around the Air Force a bit serving at Ramstein then the Louisiana ANG in New Orleans. It is now/was based at JRB NAS Ft Worth, TX with the AF Reserves.

I'm a Rho D'Islanda. It's spelt "Quonset". I've a few friends who grew up in them as kids when they made convenient prefabs. Also, it's a "quahog" not a "quohog".

Given the scale of the vehicle, it looks like a blimp hangar.

A-10, F-4 and F-16s largely. At Sembach that would be A-10s back in the day.
