How can I enrich the learning experience for a grandchild with autism who attends a school that does not have that capability?

Got a curiosity question to pose...I have an 8 y.o. grandson who is on the autisim spectrum Can any one suggest options? He taught himself at least 8 different alphabets (Russian, Hebrew,Chinese to name a few) He has memorized EVERYTHING about the Periodic table! He taught himself how to use an abbaxus and gave a demo in second grade. This kid is unstoppable. How do I enrich this? The school does not have the ability(?). I fear he will become bored and lose his inquiring mind. Any suggestions?

Debra, aside from the advice from 1SG(P) Dean Mcbride (MPER) (SPHR), I suggest you check out online learning sites such as the Khan Academy* to see if there are learning tracks that your grandson has a significant interest in (specific to Khan Academy - it's a non-profit that sponsors hundreds of free courses of all grade levels and interests).
One large benefit of online courses is that you don't have to worry that you're in a small town.

Unless you live in a very small school district, the school will have an advisor that should be able to steer you in the right direction. If they don't, check with their Gifited and Talented teachers. Also, do a Google search for Autisim centers in your local community. Trust me, you are not alone in this!

We live in a small town. they have some gifted classes (his older sister is in one) but they don't have what he needs. I call him my little Sheldon.
