Thank you, David, for posting this for us today.
I've always enjoyed this story and have visited the original restaurant in Corbin, KY on several occasions while traveling I-75 between Michigan and Georgia when visiting my grandchildren.
It seems from the history presented in various places throughout the old building, that he was a fanatic about how his chicken was prepared by owners of the various franchises. It is told that while he traveled he would stop at the franchises along the way and test the chicken. If he found it to be sub-par, he was known to throw everything, pots, pans, chicken, utensils and all, into the parking lot or out the back door, then cancel the franchise agreement which required owners to adhere to the original recipe as written, warning that any violation of that practice could be considered just cause to end the agreement. It is not hard to envision him doing that given his penchant for getting involved in a fracas from time to time. Have a great evening, my friend!
