An interesting article. One quote is: “To start, the road map calls for unprecedented action to drive consumer spending and industry investment toward available clean energy technologies over the next 10 years. “We find that the pathway to net zero is narrow but still feasible,” said Laura Cozzi, chief energy modeler for the IEA, during the press conference.” When we start telling people what to buy, well basically that’s Marxism: the political and economic theories of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, later developed by their followers to form the basis for the theory and practice of communism.
This is a balanced article because it goes on to say: “Although the IEA report offers a defined approach for achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, it is not the only way to achieve this goal, stressed Timur Gul, head of the IEA’s energy technology policy division, during the press conference. “Our scenario is a pathway and not the pathway to net-zero emissions by the year 2050,” he said. “We do hope, though, that our report — with the details, the pragmatic recommendations that it sets out — will inform and stimulate the debate on how our collective climate goals can be achieved.””
One point to reference about Climate Change Theory I don’t like that I believe is fraudulent is when they calculate net zero. For those that don’t know it: Net zero refers to a state in which the greenhouse gases going into the atmosphere are balanced by removal out of the atmosphere.
The term net zero is important because – for CO2 at least – this is the state at which global warming stops. Now in their calculations for us to obtain Net Zero they give a free pass to any electricity purchased from the commercial grid. When I was educated in Climate Change policy and methodologies by ACCO I learned electricity purchased from the grid was not counted toward calculating a facility’s carbon footprint. In my opinion this is disingenuous because one must evaluate all energy sources, not to do so skews the results falsely showing improvement. MHO. There may be other teachings out there.
