Capt Gregory Prickett There is no privacy on social media. Whatever one post can land them in trouble. Personally I dont agree with the outrage against this officer, but we have become the United States of the Offended and everyone seems to get their feelings hurt by everything. Grow up people and get a life.

LTC (Join to see) - while she could have used a more private setting instead of public, the point is that she has an absolute right to comment on clowns and make jokes about clowns. The fact that some are offended is not relevant, nor is the police department entitled to discipline her for exercising her free speech.

As a past Law Enforcement person, we do have free speech while representing our selves as Law Enforcement because we represent the authority and making a statement to shoot some one based on perceived fears adds to the perception and will cause some fool to act on it, therefore a law enforcement officer becomes the perpetrator of the offense.

Well, let's see if their right for free speech and expression, trumps my inherent right to defend myself and my family when one of these crazy asses jump out on me at night in my yard with a bat, knife or machete! just sayin!

My first thought was "Clowns to the left of me! Jokers to the right! Here I am stuck in the middle with you." Capt Gregory Prickett
It is sad that preditors are dressing up as clowns and luring kids into the woods, committing theft and other crimes while they are in clown costume.

That's part of the point. They aren't. So far, everything has been a huge internet BS story, and no children have been harmed. That hasn't, however, kept the little bastards from calling or sending in false reports of clowns coming to their schools, but most of those kids are caught.
