Im currently making an in dash GPS / old school emulator for my car out of a Raspberry Pi2 and a 7 inch touch screen. when its done i will have basically any game i want on it and the ability to navigate anywhere for cheaper then it would of been to buy a garmin. add a few usb ports to the front of the dash and you can hook up any old school controlers that are usb to complete the feel for the old games. Ill try to remember to post pictures when im finally done with it all.

ive also been messing around with an ODROID-W (basically the same thing as a pi2 but smaller) for a phone controlled GPS navigated "Beer-me" cooler project. Was basically going to be a cooler mounted on a tread system that when called to you would come to your current location and give you a beer. still gathering parts to finish that one tho.

The Raspberry Pi is great as something like a P2P receiver or a simple word processing medium. The possibilities are nearly limitless pending your desires.

As somebody who, once a little more established and settled, has plans for a "Nerd Sanctuary" the Raspberry Pi will be a very good resource.
