SO I was thinking about this the other day. I was thinking about how many unskilled laborers we have in this country, not just immigrants but american citizens, lets face it, not everyone can be a skilled laborer but with big box stores having problems, people who have positions like cashiers and stock clerks and such are in jeapordy, so where do they go then when they lose their job? some will become skilled labor but not all.

This brings to the point of immigrants who are happily filling unskilled labor jobs, so it might stand to reason to remove the immigrans and use americans BUT many unskilled americans do not want the jobs immigrants have, they feel they are too good for those jobs so wait until something else comes along and not working.

To me this seems to be a complicated situation we have right now, unless we can give companies reasons to come back to the USA we may end up with a large pool of people without jobs and no skills.

then we have vets, not all mos's translate directly into civilian needs.

So I'm not trying to make this about politics. I think its a topic that needs peopel to weigh in on a good solution.

To me this is all about ideals.

The company that outsources to save money... They are not wrong in the sense that they have not dumped chemicals or cut corners, but to me they are wrong because they are not practicing the best way possible. It is more like the lawyer that uses some technicality to get his guilty client off. Sure he followed the rules, but was it really right? Sure the country they are outsourcing to can clearly use the labor and money, but do we not have our own homeless here? And again not to say that American lives are more important than any other, but I believe that you should take care of your own community before expanding outwards when possible. Very gray area, but those are my thoughts.

And it would not be as terrible of an issue if we could rely on Americans to do the job. Saying you are above something is ridiculous. Some of my best feelings, ideas, etc. have come from good old manual labor. A job is a job and just because a doctor earns more does not mean the garbage man or burger flipper is less important. We are all interconnected and cannot survive without the other. Society is symbiotic.

The solution to me is ideals and using logic over emotion. (listen to me getting all vulcan...)

For example. I want to get out of debit (medical and credit) faster. I did this to myself, I want to solve the problem faster, I got a part time job in addition to my primary. Long hours, yep. low pay, yep. More debt paid, you bet your @$$.

The issue with companies is a bigger problem in my opinion and is solved by the way we raise our children. As far as the jobs, same solution, but until "we" fix ourselves, I say let the immigrants keep working. Some employers hire the immigrant because they know they have a better work ethic than "we" do... can you blame them for that?

LCpl Mark Lefler Until 1938, we didn't have Welfare in this country, so people who immigrated here came to work. Often the didn't speak the language, and they took hard work for low wages while they assimilated into this country.

But now we let refugees in and give them a monthly dole, whether they work or not, whether they speak English or not, or whether they even intend to work or not. "Melting pot" has become hate speech.

We just cannot have open immigration into the Welfare system. There are people who were born here, or who served in the military who need help, before we start importing people to help. But even there, the Welfare system acts against the public good.

Welfare tends to keep people on the dole. If you go out and try to get a job, you may well find yourself cut off completely, and with no way back onto Welfare if you lose your job. The bureaucrats making six-figure salaries managing welfare programs will lose their jobs if there aren't poor to be taken care of, so naturally they want to make sure there are poor people.

But there are about 5.4 million jobs available in the Trades industries; electricians, plumbers, auto mechanics, HVAC servicing, and so on. None of these require a degree - just a willingness to learn the trade.

So when an unskilled person isn't willing to learn a trade, my sympathy is limited. This is another thing our Welfare system has gotten us - people unable or unwilling to take care of themselves. They look to the government to take care of them. We need more responsibility and less whining.
