(07/28/22) The female Tour de France devolved into chaos as a mega-pileup swallowed dozens of riders just 45 kilometers from the finish line. Several of the riders sustained injuries and one was rushed to the hospital. Thursday (07/28) was the fifth stage of the very first female Tour de France. This stage included a 175-kilometer trip from Bar-Le-Duc to Saint-Die-Des-Vosges and was seen as a sprint before the challenging Vosges mountain range on Friday.

WOW, that really sucks. Especially 45ks from the finish line. These riders work so hard to prepare for these races. I love bike riding and love to watch the Tour de France.

Anyone who has ever ridden in a pace line knows all it takes is a touch of a wheel in front of you and down you go. A Few years back I inadvertently touched a wheel in front of me and went down at 22 mph. Ended up in the ER digging gravel, etc out of my abrasion’s.
