Agree with 1SG Russell S. that STD is "Standard of Conduct". My Navy neighbor concludes that "CDT is Career Development Team, which is part of the Navy's Career Development Program, processed and monitored by the Navy's human resources systems using the Standard Integrated Personnel System (NSIPS).

I'll pretend to understand that.

That is much simpler. 1SG Scott has it correct below.

Section 3? The DD214 has blanks numbered to 22b. Block 3 is the SSN. STD of CDT is short for Standards of Conduct. Not sure where you are seeing this on a DD214

I requested a copy of my hopefully not soon to be husband of my sister-in-law. My SIL requested help. He served for 1 year 4 months (I think 4 months). Claims he was with the 82nd with 4 deployments ot Iraq and Afghanistan. He claims Airborne but under his school's and ribbons/decorations, jump school and wings are not listed. He was Canon crew member /TOW operator. We have asked him l..if was Injured, that he won't seek VA care. My SIL is begging him to say what his discharge status was. He totally refuses, claims the army did experiments on him and stuff. The dates he told everyone he served do not match what i/we see in his DD-214 (FOIA copy) with obviously redacted stuff because I'm not family yet and my SIL isn't married to him yet. He refuses to get a copy of his DD214. It's bizarre and causing stress to our family. I know he has no obligation to tell us the truth, I get that. I don't trust him, not that my opinion should matter. The copy o got was 3 pages long and on page 2, section 3, under Benefits recieved it just says STD of CDT. Thanks for letting me know what that meant. Thanks everyone for your help so far. I'm just trying to protect my SIL. Dude just needs to come clean and if he does, I will brush it off.

16 weeks of OSUT at Benning followed by 3 weeks Airborne School at Benning then a short leave followed by reporting in at Bragg and basically redoing a solid week of Airborne school to satisfy Braggs requirements then off to Iraq and AFG 4 times all in 1.4 years. No. This is BS. Cannon crews and TOWs are two separate MOS fields trained at two different schools.
My uneducated conclusion is that he was a shit bird while in service and now wants to be a poser. It is VERY rare for anyone to miss a school completed (Airborne) and even more so with only a year and half of service to account for.
Sister would be better off single than this guy.
