* Joe Biden is set to become the 46th president of the United States, capping a tumultuous and tension-filled campaign during a historic pandemic against President Donald Trump. ABC News characterized Joe Biden as the apparent winner of his home state of Pennsylvania, putting him over the 270 vote threshold needed to capture the presidency.
The hard-fought battle against the president was set against the backdrop of racial unrest and the coronavirus pandemic and bitter divisions among the electorate.
Trump had falsely declared on election night, when he held a lead in several key states, that he won the contest and alleged without evidence, after the count started to swing the other way, that the election was being stolen from him and that fraud had been committed.

Personally, I believe Biden will win even after recounts and the courts make their decision. It also looks like Republicans will maintain leadership in the Senate and gain a few seats in the House.
For Democrats, this may be the worst thing that happened to them since Jimmy Carter was elected President.
With Trump gone, there is no one for the Democrats to rally against. This is important since Biden's supporters were primarily either Democrats, "never Trumpers", or Republicans and Independents who voted against Trump while voting for Republican Senators/House Members.
Biden was not elected based on his platforms or his ability to excite passion in his followers such as Trump and Obama. He doesn't have their charisma. He is considered a safe choice, a caretaker for the nation after Trump.
Biden will be a Democrat President hamstrung by a Republican Senate and a weakened Democrat House. He will be unable to pass any liberal bills, appoint any liberal judges or justices, that are considered too far to the left by Conservatives.
News media, left and right, will no longer be focused only on Trump. They will turn on Biden and Harris, if nothing else, to retain readership. You can expect that they will begin writing negative reports on a Biden Presidency.
What should concern Democrats the most about this election is the fact that over 70 million Republicans, Democrats, and Independents voted for Trump. This is far more voters than Hillary had. These voters defied all polls and pundits with their numbers. They consisted of all races including Hispanics and Blacks despite the Democrats and left leaning media to paint Trump as a racist.
What you can expect for the future is for Republicans to gain control of the House and hold the Senate in 2022.
You may see Trump run for office in 2024 and by then, his popularity will likely have grown.

MSG (Join to see) Thanks for the good news. Off the bat, I wouldn’t be looking forward to extended Covid lockdowns and a national mask mandate that Biden promised.

Biden is a career politician. He will likely follow expert recommendations, but I doubt he would cause the economy to go in the same lockdown that we saw after February. Biden would take measures to ensure the economy doesn't bottom out under him since he could no longer blame Trump,

Pretty sure it’s going to the Supreme Court, so a president will only be established when SCOTUS rules on it.

SSG Robert Webster - Because I am tired of the ridiculous argument about the precise meaning of the word democracy, so I thought this would make it easier.
And, no, I do not believe this Republic is lost. with Trump gone we still stand a chance to survive.

MSG Stan Hutchison - The problem is not the precise meaning of the word, it is the misuse and misunderstanding of the meaning of the word by many who use it in an improper manner. And in the use of words precision does count. Fortunately or unfortunately you are admitting your own misuse of the word and now acknowledge it.

SSG Robert Webster - No, I am not. I am just tired of the fuss over it.
Our leadership is elected by the will of the people, ergo; this is a form of democracy.
'nuff said.
Now, Sarge, you have a nice day.

MSG Stan Hutchison - Sadly you did admit to using it incorrectly, but it seems as though you still do not understand. Sad.
