The Pats have the #3 overall. Right now I see three paths they could take:
1) Draft a QB
2) Draft a WR (i.e. Marvin Harrison Jr.)
3) Trade their pick for better picks in future seasons

The bet from everyone is scenario #1, take a QB, but I think they should do #2 or #3. Why? Usually when a team needs a QB they have a coaching staff in place, they have a GM in place, there is an established system in the organization that allows a rookie QB to come in and be successful. Right now the Patriots have a new coach, new staff, no GM and so there's nothing telling us that any of these pieces will foster an environment for a QB. My fear is they'll draft a young talent and not be able to set him up for success, wasting a high pick in the process. I think they need to get their house in order first before they can even think about a QB. Harrison Jr. is supposed to be a generational talent so maybe grab him and let him develop for a year and then take a QB. Or get the house in order and stockpile draft picks, then when the coach and organization is in a good place - take everyone. This is a 2-3 year plan but honestly, the Patriots aren't going to realistically compete for a few years anyway.

What do you think?
