Disrespecting China's national anthem could result in three years in prison

isn't that the customary posture before they shoot you in the back of the head? refresh my memory, i'm not up on the etiquette of executions these days.

Cute, but no. We have civil rights in the United States. It's pretty great that we do.

Why stop at a year? Why shouldn't we be mandating "patriotism" and "nationalism"? Love it or leave it! In fact, maybe we should mandate that ALL sports teams - regardless of sport or level not only rise for the National Anthem, but also must SING it - even if quietly - while it's played. And if they don't, they could be fined. And also, they should say the Pledge of Allegiance right after the Anthem. But, we shouldn't stop at the players and refs, the spectators should also agree to these terms when they buy their tickets. They should also have to rise and sing and pledge. At each game. THAT is how you bring about true Nationalism!

But, really, why stop there? Most large cities have emergency sirens or speakers - maybe, once a week, on Sunday morning before church services, perhaps, we could have the city play the Anthem and the Pledge over the loud speakers. Everyone would be required to stand and sing and pledge during that time. Cars stop on the road, drivers get out and everyone will be joined in the honor of respecting the nation. People in their houses should also be doing this, but it'd be hard to enforce.

And because these things will Make America Great Again! we should maybe increase it just a little, maybe once a day, in the morning, to get everyone on the same page before they head off to make money. 0800 - Anthem and Pledge plays, everywhere around the country. Every radio station, every TV station, and every cable outlet. Smartphones will be sent the anthem and pledge and automatically play them at that time also. The words to both will scroll on every available screen on a backdrop of Old Glory waving in the breeze.

Then, America will be great again!

Nope, that's why they don't live in China. Let's not be like China.
