Look how far the world has come tech-wise in the past 10 years.  Ten years from now, tech will have progressed more than we fathom as I'm writing this.  So, as a force, I would hope that we get out in front of these tech curves.

Unfortunately we've privatized military tech R&D. Means the corporations we put the question to share the tech to the highest bidder. Time to get the big seven out of defense contracting if we actually want to get ahead.

Yes and no, Sir. We still have RDECOM and Natick plugging away in all of their locations. Yes, they're slimming down and throttling back, but they're still up to some pretty nifty tricks. Yes, they are very much involved with academia and corporate America, but we do still have in-house RDTE that is very much end-user focused. That was one of my billets a few years back.

Depends how much more damage will be done the next two years and then it will depend who gets elected in 2016. that will decide whether we stay a super power or if we finish hollowing out our military until it is not effective in any major conflict.

The effects of the budget cuts and sequestration. Obviousely that has a huge impact on the future troops but do you think its making our forces ineffective?

That seems to be the big questions. What's next? Understand budget cuts and relative strength related to the dog eat mentally of shape up or ship out. I look forward to the state regardless of the outcome. We all signed that dotted line and now have a duty.
