What gets me from this story is towards the end where the Secret Service is asking for more money; thus acknowledging that costs to protect the First Family is exceeding current and future budget estimations. How about that?

LTC (Join to see) - Obama trips were legally funded so they had to be in a budget, and except for the cost of jet fuel a trip to Mar-a -lago would cost and Obam did not take a trip to Hawaii nearly every week.
Plus when Obama traveled none of the money spent went into his own pocket, the same can not be said for Trump.

LTC (Join to see) - Money goes to the Trump Organization. None of it has been donated to charities or returned to the government. Trump Organization is still ran by the Trump family. So yeah there are expenses to his resorts that are benefitting the Trump family financially.
Oh and a trip to Hawaii once a year is far more acceptable than a family vacation every weekend. Didn't he promise us he was going to work real hard in DC. Oh wait he's still doing cross country post-election congratulatory rallies a month later. Yep real commitment to hard work.

Sir, you're on a roll today. I think that we don't know all the details, and that this particular news outlet is trying to make it out worse than it is - just because.
He owns the place, and as the SFC said before me, I doubt he would have it billable..... I'm not even sure how this plays out, to be financially more straining.

That's why there is a demand for a watchdog to make sure the Trump Organization ,which is under control of Trump Jr and Eric, is not billing the US government anything. We shall see in a year or so. Like I said, I found the request by Secret Service interesting; that story has been out for a couple of weeks.

SPC Jeff Daley, PhD - Actually there is yet any evidence of that yet but we'll see if he keeps his word and donates his salary to charities. I mean he loves anything as a tax write off and he hates having to pay a tax on income. A grand total of $7M+ on three vacations. Do you really want to compare that to what is already estimated as $2-3M per trip to Florida; at least 5 trips I can recall in two months; approx. $10-15M in two months.

And estimation on historical data in order to create a budget so if they already have historical data after two months of traveling it is safe to say the estimation for future travels is using current known costs. Just saying. Budgets aren't rocket science even for small town country boys.
