I submitted a retiree recall application for an active duty tour on Army Tour of Duty. I never expected to get approved but that is what happened. I would like to know what issues anyone faced going from the retired rolls back to active duty and what I can expect for the process.

How did you get access to MOBCOP? It appears it's only available through government computers.

I entered the retiree recall program in 2009 after my MRD. Except for the two weeks at Ft Jackson to “Re-Green”, there was no difference from my previous assignment. The RR is for each specific job, as far as I know.

COL Jon Thompson maybe it's the Stockholm Syndrome kicking in but please keep us posted on how it goes. I have been considering doing the same.

I have had several issues with Tour of Duty including updating my status to retired and then not getting any notifications on my requests. This was actually posted as a 37A LTC position but rank was not specific. So I was able to submit the application. I did not expect to get approved because I figured there had to be several 37A O5s who would jump on it. I will keep you posted as I work through all the wickets.

I did get orders about 2 weeks out from my report date of June 1. So I am on orders now, finishing up training and preparation for my mission. It took about 2 months to get them through the approval process as it had to go to the Asst. Secretary of Army level for that. No issues in-processing other than it took an extra day to get me in the military pay system.
