Slab in deadly Yosemite rockfall was 'size of an apartment building'

look at half-dome... and what used to be Glacier Point. Hot & cold & freeze & thaw does more than pitons ever could. when i heard of the first rock-fall i thought it might be the the Texas Flake, but it's on the wrong side.

I know you are right about freeze and thaw Pvt Wood but everything contributes and those rock faces have been scaling off for centuries!
