These two albums get me going...

(1) Rage Against The Machine -- Live at the Grand Olympic Auditorium
(2) Metallica -- Live Sh*t: Binge & Purge

I can't get pumped up by RATM because of the politics. I'm all for speaking out against injustice, but Morello and de le Rocha tend to be too divisive and hateful for my tastes.

And no, I can't separate out the music from the lyrics...I'm a vocalist, and have always believed the words in the songs carry far more meaning than just the collection of musical sounds they go with, and as such should not (cannot?) be separated or ignored.

CW2 (Join to see),

Right now my favorite is Happy by Pharrell Williams, but it changes often. I just love working out to positive, quick-tempo beats.

My favorite genre is actually country music, but country isn't very good for working out.

I've found that "Paper Planes" by MIA is great for setting a running tempo. If I run to the tempo it's around a 7.5 minute mile.
