First let me say I'm not happy about the headline of this article, however this link gives the most information about the circumstances of this case. Included at the bottom is a actual petition. Is this an abuse of power by two law agencies that was then compounded by the Prosecutors office?
In his decision U.S. District Court Judge Larry Hicks cited, that the court relies on the U.S. Attorney’s office to be “candid and forthcoming” with material information, and that didn’t occur in the case.
He went on to say, “The court is disappointed,” “that the United States would aggressively pursue this forfeiture action” when its motion for summary judgment and supporting affidavits made no disclosure that the second stop was a follow-up to the first."

IMO - Civil forfeiture is one of the biggest actual Constitutional violations running today. It's essentially a criminal fine based entirely on a vague suspicion with enormous barriers to the harmed party actually getting their stuff back.
Funny, this is one of those places where most Conservatives and Liberals agree completely, yet the only thing to happen regarding it is an order from Eric Holder prohibiting states from using Federal law to execute one w/o actual charges or a warrant.

We need to stop accusing the government and instead accuse actual individuals making these decisions, because we are the government they work for us, and these individuals need to be prosecuted.
