The older I get, the more convinced I am of one basic truth:

God does not count the hours spent in the woods and the fields with a dog.

That's one reason being retired and living in the country is so great.

I'm in town, but all the Ozarks are just a short drive away.

My wifes maiden name is Branson Her uncle Paul was part owner of O'Rielly Auto parts there in Springfield for many years before he passed over. Being a WW2 vet he is buried in the large National cemetery there. She has a cousin still living in Battlefield. The town of Branson was named after her great Uncle who was the first post master at the time. His brother Galba Branson was a sheriff in a little community outside Branson and was a Baldknobber before he was shot and killed. We've been there a time or 2 doing research on her history. She too is an Air Force vet and we met and married while stationed at Fairchild AFB, Spokane Washington 47 years ago. She was born here in Oklahoma City so my being stationed here at Tinker AFB for 11 years before retiring was perfect for her. We have and live on 10 acres 3 miles east of Lake Thunderbird here in Central Oklahoma.
