I am working on a packet for student loan forgiveness and the CRS is acting up. I misplaced the "award letter" and need to locate a replacement copy. The VA can provide documentation, but it isn't what Sallie Mae/Navient are looking for. Can any of you VA admin experts help a brother out with a push in the right direction? Tango Mike.

SFC Mark Merino, I did the same thing - lost my original letter - and all it took was a phone call to the 1-800 number of VA to get a replacement letter. It seemed way too easy, but in this day and age, you would think they would be able to look you up in the computer and do just that.

So I got a letter from the VA stating I have X% service connected disability. The letter was accepted at the one place that matters to me, my servicing CPOC.

SfC Mark Marino I just went through this. I went to my VA provider and explained what I needed the letter drafted for. He told me he would draft the letter but it had to go through the proper channel. I put my request in writing and submitted it to Release of Information to be fwd to my doc. It took a week or two. I returned to Release of Information and got my letter from my doc on VA letterhead. It was also noted in my clinic visit note. Feel free to msg me for more details.
