What a bunch of moronic drivel. Why is it that people that claim to support the Constitution conveniently forget provisions of the Constitution when it protects those who they do not like. Pelosi is not subject to prosecution for 18 USC 2071 for an action of hers on the floor of the House that is covered under the speech and debate clause.

If you want to prosecute her, you'll have to amend the Constitution.

Capt Gregory Prickett: And it was not filed with her as an official document, just as the person who typed it into the teleprompter earlier in the day didn't have it filed with that person, and all the copies that went to all the House and Senate members didn't have it filed with them, blah, blah, blah. Then there is the fact that it was a copy and ripping, shredding, etc. of copies are not a violation of the law. Another load of crap thrown on the wall to see what will stick. Meh.

Patricia Overmeyer - My position would still be that she's covered by the speech and debate clause, as her demonstration was unquestionably speech on the House floor. It would be up to the House to take action against her, and that's not going to happen.

Capt Gregory Prickett - That would be my second argument. The first would be to attack on the basis of the act not meeting the requirements in the actual statute. The House Speech and Debate Clause would also be my argument against any censure sought by the House itself. This screaming from Matt Gaetz about Pelosi "violating the law" is rather ironic.

you sure? Mutilate? Destroys? Obliterates?

Billy, try reading the Constitution. Look for the Speech and Debate clause. It at Article 1, Section 6, Clause 1. Once you read it, come back and I'll explain it for you.

Both she and Trump are guilty then. Although she did rip up papers during SOTU, Trump has allegedly not been preserving records according to same code

The difference is that Trump could be criminally liable, Pelosi cannot be, at least not for doing it on the House floor.
