I am about to submit my request for reclass from 35F to 35L, the next step would be the interview. I’m curious what I could do, if anything , to prepare for this interview?

Make sure your SF86 is updated, your packet is neat, complete, and organized, and know a little bit about 35L, so it doesn't look like you are blindly reclassing. As a 35F, you should already have an idea of the basics and maybe more, use that knowledge to show you a good candidate.

Other than that, don't sweat it, there's nothing you need to prepare for. Every interviewing agent does things slightly different. Don't try to "ACE" the interview, just be normal and DON'T lie. The idea isn't to put on a facade, it's to give us an idea of who you really are, seeing how we will have too work with you for the many years to come.

Thank you SFC. I’ve done a lot of reading on the MOS because I want to make sure it’s def for me and I’m pretty sure from my research that this is the best MOS for me. Thank you again and I’ll definitely do my best not to ovet prepare.

Also, don't be afraid to ask questions during the interview. If you don't understand something, don't pretend like you do and give an odd response. It makes the interview last longer for both of you.

Have you determined if you need a waiver? If you do, you MUST complete a separate packet which MUST be approved by OCMI before going to the final interview. Look back through the prerequisite criteria and ensure you don't need a moral or family citizenship waiver. I've had many applicants waste theirs and my time because they didn't read that part thoroughly; I had to point it out during the interview and turn them away to request a waiver.

I was thinking about becoming a 35L as well but I don't have the best high school grades, will that effect you in anyway throughout the selection process?

SFC Redmond’s insights are spot on(love it when they grow up and become so amazing;) to add a few minor points; you can look at the history of CI and know it’s roots and how it got to where it is today; ensure you don’t mix up HUMINT with CI but also know some of the reasons why (mission, activities, Badge and Credentials) and don’t try and puff up your past Nust be humble, focus in LDRSHIP, Army Profession and MI Corps Creed and you’ll have a leg up.
