Not only does this relate to the Military Readiness of the Future but it also has relevance in The Corporate world minus the Obesity aspect of things. The education of the young people that is provided by the Education system is so far behind what is actually needed upon graduation that young people lack the needed skills to actually get a job today. Only by clearly recognizing that this is a real issue can we develop better strategies to overcome the shortcomings. We must put our prides aside in order to find real solutions to the real situation. More and more graduates are "under qualified" for the job market today. Which leads to lowering standards just to fill seats which leads to lower quality work which leads to dissatisfied customers/clients which leads to lost contracts. It is spiraling out of control and will continue to do so IF we don't change. Which leads to the scary word of "Change". Everyone hates "change" because it is a journey into the unknown and we as human beings hate to be "uncomfortable". :-) The Corporate World is in dire NEED of Leadership.

Just another part of the ever-growing gap between the rich and poor, the educated and uneducated, the healthy and the sick. God forbid if Hillary gets elected next year, enough said...

US trains the best professionals but we are having hard time when we look for suitable hires to fill the openings.. They always say the dumbest thing to do in life is creating competition... Well, that is what we do on daily bases in US ...

This is how it goes, Three major factors contribute to it. 1. Ignorance, 2. Lack of the long term plans.. 3. Being our own fool We tend to ignore the capabilities of trainees and intend to fit them into solid slots we have. It might work for a short while but we all know that no one will keep up with nonsense for too long 2. Lack of long term plans usually lands our best into the belly of competition... And yes, it is painful...We come to realize it when nothing could be done... 3. Being our own fool.... I do not have to explain this... this is the worst habit of all three... We are most welcome to believe our own fantasy, but this is neither a solution nor an escape plan.. We believe we could replace everything and anything,, although that is true we tend to ignore the time factor. Some jobs require up to two decades of training and moreover they are costly.. Unless we have tapped into Rockefeller's fortune it is unwise to run for armatures and losing our specialist... And no.. Shiny personalities and invigorating smiles do not replace knowledge, training and intelligence.. This habits come hand in sales department when the infrastructure is running well. But if you have got nothing to sell, then even the brightest smile will not keep you afloat..
