What should I do? Stay with the Air Guard or seek to get released & go Army Guard?

Hello everyone. Currently enlisted as an E-5 SSGT with the New York Air National Guard (105th BDS, Stewart ANG Base). Did 6 years in the Army Reserve prior to this. I switched & enlisted with the Air Guard last November. Next month makes a year. As of now I have not been sent to Tech School. I have been spinning my wheels for a year....literally showing up to drill and doing absolutely NOTHING. It's frustrating. I'm used to the "hurry up and wait"....that's military. But this is ridiculous. There are pros and cons with the switch to the Air Force way of doing things. I miss being in the Army Reserve.
So I'm asking you all for your opinion on what you think I should do. There's no definitive answer as to when I'll get school dates as prior service. The priority is the brand new airmen fresh from BMT (I get it). I'm in limbo right now and I am a little tired of waiting around.
I'm thinking about getting a conditional release to switch over to the Army Guard. I'd go back Reserve but there's some odd issue about getting held up over a security clearance.
Please let me know what you think! Your help is much appreciated in advance. Thank you!

I'm biased to army Reserve. It's a much larger body with much greater opportunities. As an E5, you don't need a security clearance unless your MOS requires it. I would talk to an army recruiter and see what it would take to come back over

Stay air guard dude ! I was in army for 10 years ' two weeks after my ets orders should have been made , i was flagged for article 15 ! 60 days later got first reading & 19th days later my article 15 was approaved but not turned in ! Bc i had 30 days left in service and was assigned 40 days extra duty ! 5 days before my ets date my fake article 15 was turned in by sum 1 else instead of s1 ? Unit freaked out nx day said i had to ets honerably today bc sgm says so .. Unit did not correct or discredit fake article 15 , thus resluting in me etsing as an e1 , sold 60 days of leave left with 59 days of unused leave , no unit or ets award an honerably discharged as e1 ! This is 1 of many horror stories associated with the army ? I dont know what a msg or sgm in air force do , but in army they really have no resposabilty except to be an over paid secertary and forger , bc they signature can approave nothing ' & justify they pension by stepping on the lil guy and say the army is tought & there is a standard ! Seems most msg or sgm well about 101% of them lower than standard to justify they existance or lack of importance ? True story
