Interesting look. Hasn't their air force been behind by two steps just about the entirety of the existence of what we know as China? Using Russian Jets since Korea and are just now developing their own jets, which are bad clones of the F-35.

Recent expansion & diplomatic initiatives in the Pacific, Asia, Africa, & Latin America is/will give China capabilities far beyond the reach of their domestically based PLAAF.
The middle east doesn’t appear to be working for them (welcome to the club) and they also need to work on their in-air refueling capability to extend strike range & aircraft ferrying.
They’re smart enough to realize our refuelers are our strength as well as our vulnerability.
