Stories like this are why I call bullshit on viewpoints that blame everything on racism. Racism is A problem, but it's not THE problem. People transcend their environments all over the world. This guy came from humble beginnings, went to the NFL, and is now a neurosurgeon. It's a given that he's had to deal with racism in his life, but he patently did not let it stop him. So if you're going to tell me that racism is the largest reason that minorities struggle, I'm going to show you stories like this. Again, just so no one gets offended, racism IS a problem. Just not THE problem.

There was a TED talk on grit. Intelligence, race, etc do not determine if you succeed, grit does. Clearly this guy has grit!
