Sir,

I remember reading something about an AMEDD scholarship program.  From what little I remember, you basically became a full-time student responsible for drilling once a month, and owe the military one year of service per year of school paid for (much like the ROTC program).  What was nifty about it was that if you dropped below a 70% average, military medical professionals would take the time to bring you in and have you study with them.  I remember reading that the failure rate of the program was extremely low, but I doubt that it's a program that has a high volume of applicants.

Interesting SPC.  I don't think my educational plans really line up with AMEDD but it is good to know.

It was a long time ago, but two junior airmen who worked with me had the AF pay their way through med school. At the time, they were commissioned as 2nd Lt while in med school. They owed the AF 3 years for each year of med school (12 years total) then 1 year for each year of AF internship and residency. They essentially were committing to 20 years by accepting the program. But not a bad deal.

I've been looking for the answer to this for a year now.  I haven't found one yet.  I'm going to follow this one.
