Wow...I don't think so, as I've posted before on a thread along this same subject line, this is like a 7 degrees to Kevin Bacon. If you want to draw a line, you will be able to. Ok, they are vets, so therefore, there is a serial loose...I'm sorry I don't see it

Exactly

The very first post after I made this thread explains why the media nonsense and the hyperventilating going on about this is nuts

NO there is NOT...Many that were ASSIGNED to Fort Hood, but most of these deaths did not even happen ON Fort HOOD, and a few not even in this Country..

(Zero is a better number) But the facts are, most of those did not happen ON Fort Hood, some not even in the US, and most were not foul play indicated
As usual the media sells a different story, unless you read the fine print.

4 in Afghanistan Combat related
2 Single Vehicle accidents
2 Known illnesses
2 GSW, 1 likely self inflected, one likely criminally related
and a couple of they not telling, but the info reads like suicide.

EVEN ONE IS TOO MANY...... But please ...the facts are, its not someone on a murder rampage

SSG (Join to see) - I have no doubt you were told that, I also have no doubt the teller pulled those numbers from their fourth point of contact and does not really have any support or research to put with their "facts" .

Pushed, id bet the teller has no post or III CORPS report, position paper, notice of any such stats. the numbers may be real ..but its not because that person KNOWS,,just something they heard....
One is too many.....and while even the number of 40 sounds large.... look at the number of folks assigned to Fort Hood, and what they do for a living, the places they go, things they do everyday, for fun and work. Heck we had 8 killed in a single day in a fording accident.
Im not making light of even a single death,, but to but it bluntly, Shit Happens

When you have immature, ignorance like this killing Soldiers...

"WILLIAMSON COUNTY — Authorities have charged the man who allegedly drove a vehicle that crashed March 6 and killed a Fort Hood soldier who was in the vehicle and injured another passenger near Georgetown.
Sgt. Sean McGregor Vanderwal, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene
Vanderwal entered active-duty service in April 2014 as a military policeman. He was assigned to Fort Hood’s 720th Military Police Battalion, 89th Military Police Brigade, since February.
Spc. Timothy Andrew Corder, 25, a utilities equipment repairer also with the 89th Military Police Brigade, was booked into the Williamson County Jail on Monday for a third-degree felony intoxication assault charge and a second-degree felony intoxication manslaughter assault with a vehicle charge.
Corder, who has been stationed at Fort Hood since December 2014, was released the same day on bonds totaling $100,000, according to jail records.
According to police reports, toxicology results indicated Corder’s blood alcohol content level was at 0.139"

There is little leadership can do to prevent it. Both those SM knew DUI was wrong. Both likely knew they were going to drink, yet had no plan other then "we will figure something out" to get back to post after a night out having fun.
Both knew judgment is the first thing effected after consuming alcohol, yet relied on their judgment AFTER drinking to decide what to do. Vice making those decision BEFORE drinking.
