when you can't abide by the rules as they are - you can always change the rules and stack things in your favor. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/democratic-lawmakers-to-present-plan-to-expand-supreme-court/ar-BB1fEWvj?ocid=msedgntp

They are playing by the rules. Introducing and passing legislation to change the makeup of the court is exactly how the Founding Fathers structured the rules.

SSG Robert Perrotto - I still don't see where they're breaking any rule, letter or spirit.

I like the 15-plan. Expand the court to 15 justices, with 5 selected by Democrats, 5 by Republicans, and 5 by an independent panel. Plus, put term limits on them and rotate the justices out to lower courts after 10-15 years.

LTC Kevin B. - need to do that with congress first. Many have been in place 30+ years. and nothing has really changed.

SSG Robert Perrotto - None of them have been on there for 30+ years. Clarence Thomas is the closest, and he doesn't hit the 30-year mark until this upcoming fall. All but two have been on there for 15 years or less.

I don't think it will pass but the Republicans got their way with Mangolini and stacked the SCOTUS.

1stSgt Nelson Kerr - The same part that is too complicated for you to understand if you change the rules of the Senate for one thing, then it changes the rules for everything in the Senate. Your argument is "I changed the rules to do this, but YOU cannot use the same rules I changed for that". Hypocrisy, I name thee 1SG Kerr. And do not believe for a minute that had the Democrats had control of the Senate when Garland was Nominated, they would have abided by the 3/5ths rule. They would have utilized the rules they changed in order to confirm him. So spare me the bullshit.

1stSgt Nelson Kerr - unintended consequences. Just like stacking the court now will have unintended consequences for them when the Republicans gain power. They initiated this, it was them who changed the rules to suit their agenda. They changed the rules for one, it changed the rules for everything. The Republicans TOLD the democrats that, they warned them repeatedly. They went ahead anyway.

Your argument is that of a petulant child who changed the rules of checkers and got beat by it, wanting to change the rules again in order to stack things in their favor. "Rules for thee but not for me" - life doesn't work that way, and what you do now, can and will be used by someone else to your detriment later.

SSG Robert Perrotto - Doesn't matter what they "used" as justification, Republicans took the action so they are responsible. That is how responsibility works... Certainly doesn't surprise me you don't know how responsibility works, given your background and political leanings. You are the kind of Trump lover that blames the gun for the crime.

SSG Robert Perrotto - Republicans did do what they did and are responsible for the rule change you are crying about. How does it feel to swallow that truth, Robbie? You have had a lot of practice swallowing over the last 4 years.
