I prefer Path 3. edX and many of the links in the article have done right by me. I'm always looking to learn more about improving websites.
So. . . what language would you recommend someone start with - Javascript, Ruby, Perl Python, C?

SPC David S. - I don't know JS, but Java is much harder than SQL/mySQL, I think.

Python and Ruby are best if you want a programming language that is 'relatively' easy to learn. Javascript is a bit tougher, and Java a little more still. All 4 are powerful, flexible programming languages. Perl is tough. C is very difficult, but extremely powerful if you can master it. But if you are just getting started, C will be very challenging.

SGT (Join to see) - Yes Java is object based and not the best language to start with. Personally I like Perl/PHP(server side) and javascript (client side) tied into a database. PJAX
