Good on you for continuing to challenge yourself! It will take some initiative but most decent PAs are happy to share their knowledge and experience. When you return from your deployment and are ready to shadow, update us and collectively we can find someone. While away, I would suggest you read and increase your fund of knowledge. Find some 68Ws and they can help as well. Stay safe and study hard. Fortune favors the prepared mind.

1 most PA Schools will not accept anatomy, chemistry, biology for nursing students, abbreviated courses or courses without labs. I was told and took only classes for science majors with labs.
2 they shouldn’t but some schools look down on community colleges. Don’t waste your money on private school but you are better off taking those classes at approved 4 year school. By definition it should be to a higher academic standard.
3 study study study
Grades are what gets you an interview. Dontnpencil whip it, study like your life or thatbof someone else’s depends on it Some day it might literally be so.

Hi I was wondering if you are located near Austin TX or if you have any PA coworkers near here? I am a MSgt with the USAFR at Lackland AFB and work as a 4N071 Medic. I'm looking to shadow a military PA for a minimum of 40 hrs. Can you help me ? Audrey

I am currently an ARNG 11B, seeking to get prerequisites and requirements completed to put in a packet for IPAP. While I can work on getting courses completed and other requirements, getting the 80 Army PA shadowing hours is difficult as a non-medical MOS. What are my options or any recommendations? Is my best option to reclass into medical MOS like 68W or is it possible for me to shadow an Army PA while I am still 11B? Thank you.

What unit, city and state. IF someone is on here is near you they may let you shadow them. Post it on the IPAP page, and Army PA facebook pages, as well. Check to see who your battalion or brigade PA is (if you have one) and ask them.
I was a Combat Engineer in an Engineer Brigade with out a PA anywhere. A non-medical MOS will not hinder your packet at all. Don't Sweat. It's possible., just ask around. If you can't get a military one, then start looking for civilian PAs.
