Common knowledge for many - which needs to become universal common knowledge.
I am fortunate that Dad introduced the "question everything" and "read between the lines" concepts (i.e. today's "connect the dot" and "follow the money" concepts included), as t.v. was starting to show up in increasingly more households, in the 50s (like the internet spread in the 90s).

That is why in commercials and advertisments they repeat the phone number over and over and over again till you remember it...588-2300-EMPIRE! Caught you singing the empire flooring jingle. Same with lies...tell it enough and often and soon it becomes the truth. That is what the left is singing about the economy and yet the Titanic is sinking.

Lt Col Scott Shuttleworth Exactly! Lol. This morning I was paying attention to when the ads for pharmaceuticals start on the news channels. Around here it's 9a.m. Most of the folks who are not retired are at work by then, and that is not the audience the wealthy pharmaceutical industry is primarily interested in reaching - at that time of day. Retired, ill, and elderly are more likely to be home after 9a.m.. Seems an ageism effort to feed into fear-mongering that connects age as a number to "inevitable" medical conditions for which new pharmaceuticals are tauted as a solution - until several years later when the lawyers are doing a class action suit for damages the products have done. After 9a.m. folks are likely to welcome the flooring ads! Only U.S.A. have not outlawed pharmceutical ads.

Dictatorship, form of government in which one person or a small group possesses absolute power without effective constitutional limitations. The term dictatorship comes from the Latin title dictator, which in the Roman Republicdesignated a temporary magistrate who was granted extraordinary powers in order to deal with state crises. Modern dictators, however, resemble ancient tyrants rather than ancient dictators.
Ancient philosophers’ descriptions of the tyranniesof Greece and Sicily go far toward characterizing modern dictatorships. Dictators usually resort to force or fraud to gain despotic political power, which they maintain through the use of intimidation, terror, and the suppression of basic civil liberties.
They may also employ techniques of mass propaganda in order to sustain their public support.
