Do I have to extend if I want to get an IST from Texas to Colorado if I only have a year and 5 months left?

I just got married. I am in the Texas National Guard and my husband is Active Duty army in Colorado. I want to do an IST. My question is will I be able to do it with a year and 5 months left on my contract or will I have to extend to get transferred?
