It's been a while since I was in the Army. While I was in I had a clearance, and I have been told that joining (again) would be the fastest way to re-obtain that clearance. However I would want to re-join with the MOS I had while I served. How much say would I have in picking that MOS, and would I need to go through AIT and all that again 15+ years after separating?

SGT (Join to see) Have you talked to an Army Recruiter who will have the latest rules and regulations?

I haven't yet. I suppose that would be the best route to go but I was trying to see if anyone had had a similar experience.

GO talk to a recruiter. That MOS is probably not the same as it was 15+ years ago with technology advances. That said, if you were able to qualify back then, most likely you can qualify now. Good Luck to you, that clearance is a golden ticket for sure.

35P is now called Signals Intelligence Voice Interceptor.

Could you pick it? Possible.

You'd be Prior Service Rules. Which means you're processed last. However, if the MOS is open when you speak with the CCs at MEPS, then boom there ya go.

You may have to attend AIT again IOT get caught up to speed for the MOS.

You may very well have to attend Basic again, as well.

Your first step is to talk to a Recruiter
