How would I acquire a re-enlistment waiver for a Chapter 11?

I would like to reenlist but looking at my dd214 I am not sure if I can. I believe I was told i can reenlist with a waiver when I got out but how would I aquire a waiver and for what exactly? Some context to help: Discharge, uncharacterized, AR 635-200 Ch11, JGA RE-3, entry level
I joined at 18. Had alot going on back at home and could not adapt. I am now 27 with a family of my own and starting rotc next semester in college and would like to reenlist if possible.

I'm certainly not an expert, i would speak with a recruiter, but barring some form of bad conduct by you i don't see why you couldn't get a waiver. Ch 11 is very broad and covers a lot of circumstances, without all the specifics it's hard to really advise you.

Thank you. And yeah no bad conduct just couldn't adapt due to a family member in the hospital that I wasn't sure would come out or not. This was nearly 10 years ago so I've matured much more now and can dedicate myself and not let my emotions cloud my mind. Thank you for your advice.

I’m curious. If you qualify for ROTC, how do you not qualify for re-enlistment?

COL David Turk ROTC doesn't require you to commission if you're not taking any scholarship monies for it. If an SM joins the ROTC unit without any financial assistance from the military, they are responsible for costs. Basically ROTC is considered a science course in colleges.

In retrospect, that makes sense. I do know that once you enter your junior year, you must sign a contract whether you’re on scholarship or not.

Not sure if this helps but I was active for 2 and a half years messed up on 2 PT test and got put out with a Honorable discharge with a RE3 code (Ineligible unless a waiver is granted) and I am on the process of getting back in it’s not hard if you have no type of bad conduct or been in trouble since you have been discharged just go to a recruiter and tell them you want in and make sure you are at the army weight standards for when you get to MEPS

Thank you. No bad conduct to report. I discharged for just not being able to adapt and have not been in trouble or anything since. This was back in 2010 so I just wasn't sure if the requirements or codes have changed since I was pretty sure I could go back with the waiver. Now just to find a recruiter willing to get me a waiver. Also I don't know if I should go through the rotc program or through a recruiter at a location? Is there a difference?

Danielle Palermo if you are wanting to be some type of officer im not very educated on that area of stuff if you are just wanting back into the Army soon to get back up and going with everything your best and fastest road would be going to you’re nearest recruiting station and telling them what you want to do and everything you posted on here basically I see a lot of it’s hard finding a recruiter to work with you I personally don’t agree I talked to 5 stations just to make sure I was getting accurate information when I decided to go back in and got the same positive answer and motivation from each one of them ready to get me back where I needed to be!
