YES YOU DO! The homeless shelters are full of combat arms folks. You don't find too many former engineers or topographical analysts in the soup kitchens. Think about your future. Eventually you must leave the military, and you want to be qualified for more than "can lift stuff and walk far real good"...

Reenlist for an MOS that actually has a direct civilian counterpart and whose MOS school is credentialed and transferrable.

I make more now with my railroad job, but I miss deployment and oddly killing bad guys.
I have accreditation for diesel engines repair and drafting. But the monotony is killing my spirit.

I'm going to let you in on a secret. It's going to be hard to hear, and I may lose my decoder ring for telling you... *leans in close*

*whispers* The majority of combat arms never kill bad guys either... It's mostly lawn maintenance, weapons cleaning and picking up cigarette butts. Don't believe the hype. POG's running gun trucks and driving LOGPAC's spend far more time outside the wire. Downrange, kinetic operations are happening, but logistics is constant. If you want combat arms to fulfill some form of masturbatory fantasy, have at it, but prepare for excruciating boredom...

Well, besides the Infantry, you have ADA, Armor, FA, Special Ops, Combat Aviation, and Combat Engineers.....but the fact that you admit you miss killing bad guys is a tad disturbing.

Go to school and get a degree high speed and it really doesn’t matter what job you hold in the military. FYI if you plan on retiring from the military then it really doesn’t matter
