The day before Veterans Day is known as #NationalForgetMeNotDay. It began after World War I as a way to remember wounded veterans and ensure they weren’t forgotten when they returned home from service. The forget-me-not flower became a symbol of this movement. DAV regularly holds forget-me-not drives throughout the country to distribute flowers and raise funds for our free veteran programs and services.

Like the poppies from Flanders Fields, WW1. Freemasons in Germany used the vergismeinicht to symbolize resistance to Hitler. A storied symbol.
